Local families from Tilligerry and surrounding areas, are invited to attend the Garden Party: Family Health, Wellbeing and Education Expo for a day of free entertainment and activities on Thursday 9 November at Henderson Park, Lemon Tree Passage.
The Garden Party is a community event hosted by a group of local organisations and initiatives, including The Smith Family, Communities for Children, Ready Set Go and Hunter Primary Care.
Natasha Reece, The Smith Family’s Communities for Children Project Officer in Raymond Terrace, said the event aims to foster health and wellbeing in the community by inviting families to enjoy fun activities, whilst showcasing a range of local services.
“The Garden Party will be a day of family fun with free activities, including a family yoga session, a fire safety talk from Rural Fire Service and a Healthy Lunch Box challenge. There will be free health checks, food stalls and an expo showcasing local services,” said Ms Reece.
“It’s a great chance for parents to entertain their children whilst learning about the great health and wellbeing services available in our community.
“I hope to meet some new faces at the Garden party and I encourage the community to come along and join in the fun!”
This is the first time the Garden party event will be held in Lemon Tree Passage following a successful, similar event in Raymond Terrace last year.
The Garden Party will be held on Thursday 9 November, 10am to 2pm, at Henderson Park in Lemon Tree Passage. Admission is free and all community members are invited to attend. For more info or to RSVP call Natasha Reece on 0428 903 382.
