On Thursday, 21st March 2024 we celebrated Close the Gap Day.
Close the Gap Day is celebrated on the third Thursday of March each year and aims to bring people together to share information and most importantly, to take meaningful action in support of achieving health equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by 2032.
We were joined by special guest, Toby Cedar, a passionate storyteller and artist who calls Maitland home. A proud Torres Strait Islander man, Toby has heritage from both eastern and western islands and brings stories to life through sculpture, carvings, dance, song and new technology. An amazing lunch was provided by Peibri Place, with fresh native Australian ingredients. Learn more about Peibri Place here.
