Aged Care Emergency Service
From 1 September 2026, following the conclusion of Australian Government funding for this service, Hunter Primary Care no longer provides the Aged Care Emergency (ACE) after-hours service.
We are proud to have worked in partnership with Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD), the Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network (the PHN) and NSW Ambulance to support residential aged care homes across the region for many years and thank our partners and residential aged care providers for their collaboration.
Support for residential aged care homes
Hunter New England Local Health District's Residential Aged Care In-Reach (RACI) service continues to support residential aged care homes from 8.00am to 4.30pm, seven days a week including public holidays. RACI can be contacted on 1300 223 555.
Outside RACI operating hours, calls to 1300 223 555 will automatically divert to Healthdirect (1800 022 222). For life-threatening emergencies, call 000.
