Permanent GP opportunities
Permanent GP opportunities at Hunter Primary Care combine the stability and benefits of employment with the opportunity to experience a broad range of clinical settings, models of care and patient populations.
Opportunities may be available across GP Access, aged care, headspace Newcastle, Soul Clinic and Medicare Mental Health Centres on a permanent or casual basis, with flexible arrangements considered in line with service requirements.
GP Access After Hours - Flexible after-hours practice with strong clinical support and real community impact
GP Access After Hours(opens in new tab) offers a flexible way to practise in a fast-paced, well-supported environment while providing an important service to the local community.
Whether you want to broaden your clinical scope, maintain procedural skills, complement your existing practice or fit additional work around other commitments, GP Access After Hours lets you focus on patient care without the administration of running a practice.

- Flexible quarterly rostering with approximately 1–2 shifts per month, plus the option to pick up additional available shifts through our online rostering system
- Walk-in, walk-out model, with results and ongoing patient follow-up managed by our team
- Patients triaged by experienced RNs before you see them, supporting safe and efficient clinical care
- Broad range of presentations including paediatrics, minor injuries and acute care
- Opportunities to maintain procedural skills such as suturing and wound management
- Access to on-site imaging, pathology and security across clinic locations

Soul Clinic - Make a difference for people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage
Soul Clinic offers GPs the opportunity to provide accessible healthcare to people at risk of or experiencing homelessness in the Newcastle community.
Funded by the PHN and delivered by Hunter Primary Care in partnership with Soul Hub, Soul Clinic provides multidisciplinary, trauma-informed healthcare designed to reduce barriers to care and improve health equity.
