Are you looking to gain confidence in supporting NDIS participants with informed choice and control when it comes to appropriate NDIS providers? Wouldn't it be great to meet the allied health providers before supporting a referral or recommendation?

We understand how important it is to recommend providers who align with your participants' values and offer the same dedication and respect you do. What better way to ensure this than by meeting with providers before making a recommendation.

Our Bite-Sized Allied Health Insights series involves monthly online sessions and is the perfect opportunity to meet our team, learn about our NDIS services, and see firsthand how we can support your participants with the care and attention they deserve. Attendees will receive a behind-the-scenes look at what happens when you make a referral to Hunter Primary Care and see how we prioritise quality and care every step of the way.

NDIS participants, support coordinators, support workers, and plan managers are encouraged to bring questions to each session, where they can engage directly with our multidisciplinary team. Our experts are ready to share valuable tips and insights across the following areas:

  • Occupational Therapy - types of supports and interventions available, how to support participants with meaningful activities of interest, safety plans
  • Nutrition & Dietetics – how to support participants who are hesitant to meet with dietitians, learn about our non-diet approach, dysphagia, our shopping tours and cooking classes
  • Social Work - types of supports and interventions available, transitioning participants from hospital to home, brainstorming options for participants with low NDIS funding and navigating service systems across community, justice and health sectors
  • Exercise Physiology - supporting participants who lack confidence to attend a gym, movement as medicine for the mind, debunking the “no pain no gain” theory and Hunter Primary Care’s trauma-informed gym space
  • Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander health – understanding our emphasis on culturally-informed services and utilization of the Finding Your Way and CITIHA models of care.
