Clare is a Clinical Psychologist who has been working at Hunter Primary Care since 2022. Clare works with people across the lifespan and takes a person-centred approach to her work, using evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and drawing on additional training in Schema therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Clare has worked with adults and adolescents with a range of mental health difficulties, such as anxiety and mood disorders, anger, relationship difficulties, life transitions including the perinatal period, alcohol and other drug use and trauma.

Clare has a PhD at the University of Wollongong and her research explores how best to support families who are affected by a loved one's alcohol or other drug use. She is an AHPRA board approved supervisor and likes to support the professional development of psychologists and other health professionals in her role as the Alcohol and Drug Clinical Supervisor at Hunter Primary Care.

Clare currently provides psychological therapy at our Warabrook clinic, and at the Jewells outreach office.
