Patrick is a Mental Health Accredited Social Worker who has been part of the Hunter Primary Care team since April 2022. He is passionate about supporting people through life’s challenges and creating a safe, respectful space where clients feel heard and understood.
Patrick has experience working with children, young people, adults and families from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. His approach is inclusive, culturally sensitive, and grounded in genuine care and collaboration.
He works from a strengths-based, trauma-informed perspective, meaning he recognises the resilience people already hold while supporting them to develop practical tools for change. Patrick believes therapy works best when it is a collaborative process and he partners with clients to build strategies that feel realistic, empowering and tailored to their individual needs.
Patrick supports people experiencing:
- Stress and burnout
- Anxiety and depression
- Grief and loss
- Anger and emotional regulation difficulties
- Trauma
- Substance misuse challenges.
- Suicidality
- Perinatal and postnatal depression (PND)
He draws on a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Patrick carefully tailors his approach to suit each person’s goals, preferences and circumstances.
