Elected in November 2025, Chris is a member of the Clinical Governance Committee.
Chris is a practising Senior Physiotherapist and Clinical Leader with more than 20 years’ experience in the Greater Newcastle and Hunter region.
He spent over 15 years at the Royal Newcastle Centre and John Hunter Hospital working in musculoskeletal and neurosurgical specialties. During this time, he also served as a conjoint lecturer at the University of Newcastle and chaired three Australian Physiotherapy Association Scientific Conference committees.
In recent years, Chris has worked in the private community and NDIS sectors, leading large allied health multidisciplinary teams. He is currently an Allied Health Clinical Lead at River Community Services, supporting clients across Maitland, the Hunter and Greater Newcastle. He maintains a strong passion for high-quality, evidence-based, interdisciplinary care.
Chris has a particular interest in the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. He has been a clinical lead in implementing boutique large language model supports for clinicians, including customised AI scribes. While optimistic about the potential of AI, he recognises the importance of robust risk and clinical governance frameworks, as well as the need to demonstrate clear value and return on investment.
