Culturally safe care coordination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

Yudhilidin (meaning guidance)  provides culturally safe social and emotional wellbeing support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with mental health and other challenges. Our small team of Aboriginal Peer Navigators offer holistic, time limited care coordination, with access to clinical support as needed.

The team will partner alongside you on your healing journey, to;

  • Identify your health and wellbeing goals
  • Help you link with culturally appropriate services in your community
  • Support you to make meaningful connections with services to meet your individual needs.

Am I eligible for support?

You are eligible for support if you are aged 16 years or older, your mental health and wellbeing issues are impacting your daily life and you live in the Newcastle, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie or the lower Hunter Valley.

What type of services will Yudhilidin help me to connect with?

  • GP and other health services
  • Mental health support,  including counsellors and psychologists
  • Alcohol and other Drug services
  • Financial counselling
  • Domestic/Family Violence support
  • Education, training and employment services
  • Housing and homelessness services
  • Cultural connection groups.

The Yudhilidin team currently has limited capacity due to high demand. We are working hard to increase capacity and will be recruiting a male Peer navigator in coming weeks.

The referral link may be closed intermittently to manage demand. We apologies for any inconvenience. Please anticipate there may be significant wait times to be allocated to a Peer Navigator.
