Are you supporting someone living with Dementia?
We understand that as someone supporting a person with dementia, keeping yourself and your loved ones well can be challenging, particularly during the holiday season.
Supporting someone with a complex condition often results in feeling like you should put your own needs last, but it’s okay to still have your own needs and spend time taking care of yourself, so you’re better able to support your loved one.
Come and meet Emma, Dementia Registered Nurse and Michelle, Clinical Psychologist from Hunter Primary Care as they provide you with simple strategies to stay happy and healthy during the Christmas season and reduce carer strain. They will cover topics such as:
- Getting ready for Christmas
- Delirium prevention
- Self-care for carers
- Meaningful activities for Christmas Day
Morning tea and refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there.
