This year has been a tough one. The global pandemic has presented many barriers when it comes to physical and emotional connection with family, friends and the community.
Adapting to these lifestyle changes is challenging for all of us, however it can be particularly difficult for people living with a disability and/or mental illness. We encourage you to check in with a loved one today, reach out and ask them how they are, and share how you are doing as well.
There are many ways we can ask the people around us if they are okay. The R U OK? team have put together some great ideas on how you can ask the question.
Whether it’s with someone in your household over the kitchen table, or a friend on the phone - nothing beats a good chat. Remember to be prepared if someone’s answer is “no, I’m not” and be there to listen to them.
