Psychological Therapy

Taking care of your mental health is an important step, and you don’t have to do it alone. At Hunter Primary Care, our psychological therapy provides timely access to skilled support, without long waitlists.

Our team of psychologists and accredited mental health social workers provide one-on-one therapy sessions for children, adolescents and adults at our Warabrook office, or via telehealth. We support people through challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, substance use, trauma and life transitions.

Our clinicians draw on recognised therapies including:

• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

• Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) - group and individual

• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

• Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

• Mindfulness-based therapies

• Trauma-informed and culturally safe approaches

Fees and Medicare

Private sessions are available at the following rates:*

• Clinical Psychologist: $235

• Registered Psychologist: $190

• Accredited Social Worker: $170

You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate with a referral or Mental Health Care Plan from a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician.
