Melissa is a Registered Nurse with over 30 years’ experience working in a diverse range of nursing specialties including primary care, disability, Red Cross, general practice and management.
In her role, Melissa manages primary care services at Hunter Primary Care including GP Access After Hours, aged care services including Aged Care Emergency (ACE), Aged Care Nurse Practitioners and the Aged Care Nursing Clinical Placement Program, allied health services and initiatives to support vulnerable and homeless communities. Melissa is responsible for developing and providing programs that support first-contact, comprehensive and coordinated person-focused care.
Melissa has dedicated over 15 years to Hunter Primary Care within the primary care portfolio. She began working in the GP Access After Hours services as a registered nurse and is now the General Manager responsible for overseeing the operations of the service. Throughout these years, Melissa has utilised both her nursing skills and knowledge of primary healthcare to fulfill her passion for strengthening community access to quality primary care.
