Our Primary Mental Health Services team

Hunter Primary Care’s team of Clinical Psychologists, Psychologists, Social Workers and Clinical Counsellors are highly experienced and skilled at addressing common primary mental health care presentations. The majority of our clinical staff have undertaken postgraduate training to further develop their assessment and treatment skills. Most of our staff are members of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and/or the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).

All of our clinical staff provide current evidence based psychological treatments and maintain their professional skills by attending ongoing professional development which allows them to provide the best clinical care. The team work in collaboration with GPs and are in regular communication to discuss the care and outcomes of your patient.

We have strong links with the Psychology Department at the University of Newcastle, and provide opportunities for Clinical Psychology trainees to attend clinical placements. Some of our Senior Clinical Psychologists lecture into the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Newcastle.
